Free Books Campaign 

Big Hair + Beauty are proud to support Free Books Campaign, a non-profit Community Interest Company who aims to close the gap in reading inequality by providing free books by black and POC authors to those who can't afford them.

Having access to books is a privilege that is often overlooked. With a high number of libraries closing around the UK - almost 130 reported in 2018 alone - access to books has become increasingly difficult, and whilst book sales have been on the up, many do not have the luxury of buying or accessing their own. 

Free Books Campaign believe that no one should be denied the opportunity to improve their education, their learning or to simply immerse themselves in a great book due to financial restrictions. So the Free Books Campaign (CIC) was born out of the need to close this gap, increase book ownership and support readers, which can have a huge positive impact on someone’s life.
